This is the second rolling out of the Talent Development Course in two years and will provide aspiring coaches who missed out last year in Melbourne a chance to upskill to a new level of coach!

We are lucky to have specialist assessor and presenter from the World Squash Federation; Peter Hirst joining us in Townsville qualifying our tutors and coaches at WSF level and they will be recognised worldwide.

Entry Pre-requisites 

Prior to commencement of the squash-specific component of the Training Program, Talent Development candidates must have satisfactorily completed the following requirements:

-          Completion and accreditation of the Squash Australia Club Development Coach Program;
-          ASC‟s Intermediate Coaching General Principles Course or equivalent;
-          2 years coaching at a minimum level of Club Development;
-          Current National Referee’s Rules theory Examination pass (85% or above)
-          A completed First Aid Provider Qualification;
-          ASADA Level 1 and 2 Courses; and
-          Other pre-requisites may, from time to time, be prescribed by the EC and EWG. 

Applications from prospective candidates for participation in a Talent Development Training Program, or its course, modules or units will be considered by the EC and Course Presenter/Assessor who will take into account the following:

-          the eligibility status of the applicant as specified above with pre-requisites;
-          other sports coaching or training qualifications;
-          the extent of course funding; and
-          the capacity of the course, module or unit to cater in terms of numbers.

Age of entry into the program:

Candidates must be at least 18 years of age on completion of the course in order to be accredited as a Talent Development Coach.
